Whether you’re rolling out of a summer of biking, or shaking off too many hours at the desk — it’s time for a total-body tune-up for ski season!  Imbalances left unchecked can turn into aches, pains, or worse… a missed powder day.

The Value of  Prep

This progressive series helps you correct assymetries and get dialed for winter.

  • Unlock mobility for smoother, more efficient turns
  • Build total-body strength through core work and calisthenics (kállos-sthenos – “beautiful strength”) 
  • Improve balance & stability for confident skiing on varied terrain
  • Develop power for stronger edge control, faster transitions, and the explosiveness to finish long runs strong
  • Refine alignment & movement patterns so you feel tuned up, not worn down

8-Week Progression

  • Weeks 1–2 → Foundations
    Self Myofascial Release (SMR), breath, posture, and joint mobility. Lay the groundwork for safe, strong movement.
  • Weeks 3–4 → Core & Calisthenics
    Add functional bodyweight strength: planks, rotations, bilateral and unilateral squats, and balance drills.
  • Weeks 5–6 → Plyometrics & Power
    Introduce low-impact, ski-specific jumps, hops, and bounds to build reactive strength.
  • Weeks 7–8 → Integration & Ski Conditioning
    Put it all together with dynamic mobility flows, fatigue-proof balance, and total-body circuits.

Frank Baptiste, CSCS —founder of FranklyFitness, is a Vermont-raised performance coach “born from ice,” making his first turns at Cochran’s Ski Area before racing in high school under Jim Price, his history teacher and ski coach.  Featured in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Health, USA Today, and Bicycling, he blends 17 years of coaching with a lifetime on snow — from a sabbatical in Jackson Hole to ski touring adventures around the world. Frank now helps athletes and mountain enthusiasts unlock mobility, recover smarter, and ski stronger all season long.
