Taylor Jackson, CSCS – Head Performance Coach, NYC
Taylor Jackson has had the pleasure of working with some of the world’s finest athletes from New England to Seattle, Buenos Aires and Ecuador to New York City. Recently, he’s brought a former tennis pro back into the game, has helped several clients reach their weight-loss goals, and trains Max Seibald of the USA National Lacrosse Team, who recently brought home a championship in the 2011 World Games.
Whether it’s coaching proper movement mechanics in the gym or on the Lacrosse field, Taylor’s well-rounded and versatile approach to training the mind and body enables him to help his clients perform better and get results. Moreover, he does this by bringing a fun, positive and uplifting attitude to his training sessions.
Born and raised in the State of Vermont, which is known for its progressive, healthy, outdoor lifestyle, playing hard and living well have always been an integral part of Taylor’s life. In fact, choosing only one sport, lacrosse, to focus on for four years at Wheaton College was a tough decision! Memories of multiple trips to regional and state championship downhill ski races, track meets, and lacrosse and soccer games made choosing a favorite sport depend on the season.
Periodized, year-round strength and conditioning training was the catalyst to Taylor’s athletic successes. At age 13, his apprenticeship with renowned high school football and track coaches was a clear indication of his passion for the understanding of preparation through practice. This head-start knowledge in athletic performance was a launching pad for his coaching experience and personal achievements. The Wheaton College men’s lacrosse team had its best two seasons in a decade while Taylor was a two year co-captain and 2006 National Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar-All American. More recently, he recorded a personal best at the 2010 American Powerlifting Association’s Iron Bash Weekend with a 500 pound deadlift.
Taylor continues to learn by practicing different training modalities and by regularly attending fitness seminars and workshops offered by industry leaders. He recently earned the CSCS credentials – Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist – by passing his exam through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
